Welcome to the website of the Plastic Free Bookham project, run by environmental group Transition Bookham. We aim to reduce single-use plastic in our community and gain the Plastic Free Community accreditation awarded by Surfers Against Sewage.
The next two years were challenging times in which to progress a plastics-reduction project, but we've been making steady progress on some of our objectives and have achieved three out of five. As at March 2024 the project is over 80% complete. We have 19 out of our required 20 Community Allies signed up and have our first Business Champion approved. See individual pages for details.

Upcoming Event - Open Morning on Saturday 11th May 2024 10am - 12.30pm
We were very grateful to receive a grant in 2023 from The National Lottery Community Fund, distributed by Transition Together. The grant covered our running expenses for that year and we thank National Lottery players for making it possible.
