Welcome to the website of the Plastic Free Bookham project, run by environmental group Transition Bookham. We aim to reduce single-use plastic in our community and gain the Plastic Free Communities accreditation awarded by Surfers Against Sewage.

Transition Bookham logoWe launched the project on 20th November 2019. You can view the slides from the presentation here.

2020 was a challenging year in which to progress a plastics-reduction project but on the positive side we did manage to meet some of our objectives. Our key tasks going forward are to sign up businesses and community allies - if you can help with this please get in touch. The project has been on hold since January 2021 but we hope to start up again in October. Find out more about the Plastic Free Communities initiative.

We're involved with the Mole Valley Climate Hub in Leatherhead at intervals during September and October: see the Dorking Climate Emergency website for more information.
